Glen River Summer Poetry Readings Information on the readings will be updated. As the weather warms up, I turn my energy to a poetry reading series. I will provide an amplifier and microphone. Even in a small venue readers have the opportunity to use a whispered word when the mic is available. I will be recording many of these sessions. Eventually they will be posted on the web. Anyone with a suggestion for venues, please e-mail with the info. The format is simple. I will open with light guitar music and some conversation. Then, to adjust the setting, I will read a few select poems of other poets work. Depending on how many poets are in the house, I will either go to the open mic, or do a set of my poetry/music and then do the open mic. A signup sheet is provided. The basic expectation for readers is 3 poems or 10 minutes. Changes in the format will depend on the desires of the core audience. |
